My best friend (aka "wife") gave me HUGE surprise gift during our 2-week road-trip vacation (see "Yorktown" video posted over in PHOTOS section).

The flying performance was as BIG a "WOW" as the anniversary present!! I've been flying a Doogee Mix android phone with a decent amount of success since getting my Mavic Pro in May, 2018. A few weeks ago I commented to my wife about my frustration with trying to get a good focus trying to video low-light pics and vids on my android and how much I'd like to get an iPad one day.

I'm blown away by the performance!! I can see the screen easily in bright sunlight and in low-light conditions; I can switch between Litchi and DJI Go without having to "force-close" the app; the RC and video signal remain strong and flawless; and the 9.7" screen has not been cumbersome at all!!

LUV this thing! Thank you SWEETIE!!!

Congratulations. I have been thinking of getting a new iPad mini so it will fit in the controller arms.

    What mount are you using?

    This one: https://www.amazon.com/SKYREAT-Upgr...t+mavic+mount&qid=1566502974&s=gateway&sr=8-3

I was originally thinking a "mini". I'd made a comment to my wife several weeks earlier about really wanting an iPad someday dedicated for drone flying. I wasn't expecting that she'd get me one. She found a really great deal on Amazon, a one-day back-to-school sale special and decided to take advantage of a BIG discount and surprise me! So, it's not the mini...but I can live HAPPILY with the inch and a half bigger screen!

I LUV this thing- no problem seeing screen in direct sunlight! Luv my wife MORE, though- iPad or not LOL!!

BTW, the Yorktown video was my first "real" flight using the iPad. I did a couple of test flights in the process of getting it set up with new DJI Go download and setting and testing settings, accessing maps, testing RTH, etc.

Thanks for the info. Your lucky to have a good one (wife that is). Mine wouldn’t surprise me with a gift like that because she wouldn’t know what configuration I would want. I guess I can be particular about those kind of things.
